The pentose phosphate pathway and the glycolytic pathway are interdependent because they have in common several metabolites whose concentrations affect the rates of enzymes in both pathways. What are the metabolites common to both pathways?
There are three common metabolites:
glucose-6-phosphate, glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate, and fructose-6-phosphate.
